A Day In 宁波春晖民工子弟学校

Today was the day in which all the hard work from Pura Vida paid off. We visited the school that focused on educating kids with parents as migrant workers. We first took over their english lesson by giving them a sheet of piece of paper with simple words for them to practise writing it. We then ran over the words with them (pronunciation, definition etc..) and told them to pick three words to draw a picture with, whilst describing a short story along with it.

Because we were teachers during that day, we got to experience what that was like within the environment of kids with migrant workers as children. Therefore when lunch rolled around, we got to taste a homemade meal in the teacher's lounge. The other students had to eat in the classroom; with the chefs that cooked their food in the dining hall, but we got special treatment and had a homemade meal :) (ps. it was one of the best meals I have ever had in my whole life)

PE was the last lesson in which we taught where we played the games SPLAT! and 'what's the time Mr Wolf?' This was my favourite lesson of the day since we really got to interact with the kids, and for Helena and I to see them so energetic really brought a smile to my face.

Our last job of the day was during their 'homeroom' class which was the last class of the day. We asked them to write their wishes (something that they want that is practical and can sustain their lives) as a surprise for them. During Easter break we will purchase their wishes and deliver it to their school early May.
